ESC Region 10
In addition to our core business of providing website engine software and a suite of integrated databased applications, netStart Web Services also does custom design work. Region 10 Education Service Center already uses its own proprietary Content Management System and so was not in the market to use our software, but because they liked our design work the Region contracted with us to redesign their website. The new website design was unveiled on March 14, 2007 and has received many compliments on its pleasing and professional appearance.

The Cooperative Purchasing Network
The Cooperative Purchasing Network (TCPN) is a large scale initiative with members in over ten states. Most of the members are either public, private or charter schools, as well as city and county governments, colleges and state agencies. On January 25, 2007 TCPN launched its new website powered by our netStartEnterprise™ Content Management System. In addition to a large and ever changing number of members there are also a large and ever changing number of vendors that belong to the CoOp. In their old system, updating member and vendor information was an arduous process, involving converting data in various formats and file types into PDFs, and then using FTP to get these new files on the server. The solution for this was a customized database, programmed by netStart Web Services, with an easy to use interface for entering content into the database. The result was that a chore that once took many hours of work each week was reduced to the work of a few minutes.

DeLeon ISD
When new Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Randy Mohundro, came to DeLeon ISD he wanted a new website that would make his district stand out on the web as a sign of the district’s professionalism and dedication to its core mission. The Superintendent’s solution for this was to netStart Web Services design a new, updated look for the district and to migrate the content in the company’s netStartEnterprise™ Content Management System. Once the new design was approved and the project up and running, the Superintendent saved his district some money by migrating the existing content himself, after one hour of training over the telephone. Since then, of course, he has added a lot of new content and values the ability to update his website anytime, quickly and easily. The result of Dr. Mohundro’s hard work can be seen here.

Westwood ISD
Westwood ISD needed a new website, with a more professional look and feel and a way to make updating it easy for their technology staff. The district’s solution was to have netStart Web Services design a new site and to provide our netStartEnterprise™ Content Management System to accomplish both of those goals. The new district website went live on January 9, 2007. Westwood ISD is also using our netStartClass™ Content Management System to power their classroom websites, such as this great one by BCIS and Computer Science teacher Mr. Jim Norton.

North Forest ISD
Recognizing the importance of effective Internet communication between the district and its community, the Communications and Community Relations department of North Forest ISD rolled out their new web portal on August 9, 2005. Using netStartEnterprise™ software, the department can easily keep its new website up to date. The new district site comprised phase one of a two phase project. On August 31 the district unveiled new netStartClass™ campus websites for its fourteen campuses, bringing its ability to communicate important information online even closer to its neighborhoods and community.

Klein ISD Intranet
Klein ISD uses its Intranet to post extensive curriculum materials and TEKS-related documentation. The Intranet grew so large over time that its navigation and general usability began to suffer. The solution for the district was to migrate the content of the Intranet site into a new netStartEnterprise™ format, complete with custom design and application integration. The district deployed the new Intranet on July 10, 2005 to an enthusiastic reception within the district. (This site is not available for viewing outside of Klein ISD’s Local Area Network.)

Texas Behavior Support Initiative
The Texas Behavior Support Initiative (TBSI) is a statewide initiative designed to provide school districts and educators with “Positive Behavior Support” training and materials in order to help them cope and succeed with students with challenging behaviors. TBSI consists of staff from the Special Education Services department of Region IV ESC and representatives of the other 19 Education Service Centers in Texas. TBSI has been using its netStartEnterprise™ website to support its members from a central online location in their efforts to deliver its training materials and documentation to local school districts from May 2, 2005.

Klein ISD
After getting all of its teachers and campuses online with netStartClass™ campus and classroom websites (click here for story), Klein ISD unveiled its new netStartEnterprise™ district website on April 16, 2005. The new site features a custom design and improved internal navigation.

Texas Assistive Technology Network
The Texas Assistive Technology Network (TATN) is a state-wide organization located in Houston, Texas, dedicated to helping schools and educators provide the help for disabled students necessary to allow those students receive the same educational opportunities as everyone else. The TATN is made up of the staff in Houston under the leadership of Director Diana Carl and representatives from each of the 20 Education Service Centers in Texas. The TATN has been using its netStartEnterprise™-based website to provide timely information and documents to its members across the state since April 2005. Director Carl said that, “We love being able to update our web pages ourselves now, whenever we need to.”

Spring ISD
The Communications and Community Relations department of Spring ISD has long recognized the importance of its district website. The district uses its site both to get important time-sensitive information out to the public, and to keep other important information, such as contact info, employment news, bus schedules and so forth, readily available to the public at all times. Like many large school districts, however, the district’s website had grown so large as to become increasingly unmanageable. In March 2005, the district saw this problem resolved when it rolled out its new netStartEnterprise™ district website.

Harris County Department of Education (HCDE)
HCDE’s original website, like so many older sites, was built and maintained by an outside company. Over the years the site had grown considerably in size and complexity while the ability of the contractor to keep it up to date had diminished. The Request for Proposal published by HCDE required the winning bidder to supply a Content Management System, a complete website redesign, a data based online employment application and a data based online workshop and conference catalog. ezTask was selected to provide the redesign, its netStartEnterprise™ CMS, and to develop custom versions of the two data based applications. The new HCDE website was launched in October 2003.

Leander ISD
The administration of Leander ISD needed a way to enable their teachers to use the Internet more effectively as a medium of communicating with students and parents. It chose netStartClass™ because it is fast to implement, easy for teachers to use and the most cost effective solution available. Over 1,200 teachers, such as this one across the 25 campuses of Leander ISD have been using netStartClass™ for their classroom websites since August 2003.

Education Service Center Region 14
Under the vision of then-Director Mr. Terry Harlow, Region 14 began an ambitious website project in January 2003. Phase One of the project was to offer netStartClass™ content management software to every teacher in the 43 districts that comprise the Region, and to have several persons from each of those districts come to the Region Service Center in Abilene, Texas, for training. Initially, about 2,000 teachers opted to enroll in the program and in February approximately 150 teachers and technology coordinators attended training sessions at the Region. Phase Two of the project involved redesigning the ESC’s website and migrating its content and legacy applications into the netStartEnterprise™ tools, which was accomplished in April 2003. Finally, over the summer of 2003 sixteen of the districts in the Region opted to migrate their district and campus websites into the netStartClass™ software. This last phase was completed by the opening of the 2003-04 school years.
