Migration Information

This message applies to ALL ezTask customers.

On Saturday July 21, all ezTask projects located at Rackspace data center DFW1 will be migrated to DFW3.

For our clients, this means even better service!

In order to complete the migration and testing, your website will be inaccessible for a maximum of 8 hours during the following time frame:

Saturday, July 21, 2018  11:00 PM central/12:00 AM eastern
Sunday, July 22, 2018  07:00 AM central/8:00 AM eastern

Our goal is to restore service as quickly as possible within that window. Rackspace has designed the migration plan to occur in small, manageable blocks in order to minimize the amount of downtime for each client. Our project plan includes multiple contingency plans to ensure we do exactly as we've promised and restore service within the 8-hour timeframe.

If there are changes to this schedule we will let you know as soon as possible.

We sincerely appreciate your trust in us, and and we look forward to bringing you even better service!  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to give us a call at 800-921-6764 or send us an email.

  • Rackspace, the world's leader in web hosting and ezTask's service partner, is closing the data center called "DFW1".  All ezTask projects located at DFW1 will be migrated to the newest data center in the Dallas area, DFW3.
  • Yes. It's going to get even better!

The destination for this migration, Rackspace data center DFW3, is one of the company's newest data center facilities. It benefits from the latest infrastructure and networking, enabling efficiencies through higher power densities.

From a power perspective, the busway combined with taller cabinets gives Rackspace much more capability to run cabinets at higher power levels than in DFW1. Power redundancy is also doubled (full 2N) from the cabinet to the floor power distribution units (PDU).

From a networking perspective, DFW3 has the latest shared aggregation platform (Nexus 7k) providing 20G redundant connections from the Top-of-Rack (ToR) switches to the aggregation (aggr) switch layer and standard 1G in cabinets. Rackspace also has aggregated exnet throughout, again lessening the likelihood of requiring in-DC migrations because of localized network constraints. This is a big departure from DFW1, which has areas with no aggregated exnet, no 1G connections between ToR and aggr switches, and has 100Mb in cabinets in many areas.
